Patron Saint Rose of Lima

Saint Rose of Lima is a seventeenth century saint who devoted herself to the sick and the poor. She was also gifted with her hands and created beautiful lace, embroidery, and needlepoint. St. Rose also grew gorgeous flowers in her gardens.

Although St. Rose of Lima created beauty with her hands, she could not tolerate her own beauty. She scarred her face with lye, cut off her hair, and fasted every day to resist vanity.
