The Letters of Saint Paul

St. Paul is the author of the Pauline Epistles. These thirteen epistles are in the New Testament. St. Paul's epistles were sent to all the Christian communities in the area. They were read out loud to the Christians as teaching of the Church. St. Paul's epistles are believed to be the earliest scriptures of the New Testament, written between 50 A.D. and 62 A.D.

St. Paul's Epistles

St. Paul's epistles were addressed to churches and individuals that he had been in contact with during his travels. These Christian congregations were located in Cyprus, Asia Minor, Greece, Crete, and Rome. The Epistles of St. Paul described the teachings of Jesus Christ and they gave instructions on Christian beliefs and way of life. His epistles were the first to explain what it means to be a follower of Jesus of Nazareth. St. Paul's Epistles were addressed to:

Prayer to St. Paul the Apostle

The following prayer is a Litany to St. Paul the Apostle. Many Catholics wear a St. Paul charm, a St. Paul medal, or a St. Paul pendant while they are reciting this litany. Wearing a St. Paul necklace helps believers to focus on their prayer to St. Paul, asking for his intercession and blessing.
Litany of Saint Paul the Apostle

Antiphon: You have probed me, and you know me: you know when I sit and stand.

V. The great Saint Paul, the vessel of election, is indeed worthy to be glorified.
R. For he also deserved to possess the twelfth throne.

Lord have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
