| Saint Michael the Archangel
Patron Saint of Service Men & Women, Police Officers, Emergency Medical
Technicians, Mariners, Those Who Are Sick "The name Michael signifies
Who is Like to God? and was the war cry of the good angels in the battle fought
in heaven against Lucifer and his followers. Michael was leader of the army of
God. Holy Scripture describes St. Michael as 'one of the chief princes.' He
has been especially honored and invoked as patron and protector by the Church
from the time of the Apostles. Although he is always called the Archangel, the
Greek Fathers and many others place him over all the angels - as Prince of the
Seraphim. Whenever some act of wondrous power must be performed, Michael is sent,
so that his action and his name may make it clear that no one can do what God
does by his superior power.. Prayer to Saint Michael
"Glorious Prince of the heavenly hosts and victor over rebellious spirits,
be mindful of me who am so weak and sinful and yet so prone to pride and ambition.
Lend me, I pray, thy powerful aid in every temptation and difficulty, and above
all do not forsake me in my last struggle with the powers of evil. Amen." Prayer
to Saint Michael for Police Officers "Dear St. Michael, your name
means, Who is Like God? and indicates that you remained faithful when others rebelled
against God. Help police officers in our day who strive to stem the rebellion
and evil that are rampant on all sides. Keep them be faithful to their God as
well as to their country and their fellow human beings. Amen." An
EMT Prayer Grant me the ability to give emergency care with skillful hands,
a knowledgeable mind and tender loving care. Help me deal with everything that
occurs when lives are on the line to see the worst, administer aid, and
ease a worried mind. Please help me as I go today to accept Your will. Please
touch these hands, use this mind, and help this EMT. Amen. |
