Karolina Kozkowna Young
Karolina Kozkowna was a young girl who lived in Poland
with her ten siblings and her mother and father. She
lived from 1898 to 1914. She was a 'martyr of purity',
resisting rape from a Russian soldier and defending
her innocence and purity for Jesus
Christ. The Russian soldier murdered her during
the rape attempt, later declaring his regret and guilt.
Karolina was buried in Abawa, Poland.
On June 10, 1987 Pope
John Paul II beatified Karolina Kozkowna in Rarnow,
Poland. This is the first step toward canonization which
is still pending today.
Blessed Karolina Kozkowna
Blessed Karolina Kozkowna is remembered by today's Christians
for her faith and loyalty to Jesus Christ. Even at a
young age, she sacrificed herself to follow the way
of Jesus, suffering pain and death to save her purity
for Jesus. Young girls today gain strength by the example
of Karolina Kozkowna.
They follow her example by resisting the temptations
of this world and those who try to persuade them to
sin. Wearing a Karolina Kozkowna medallion or a Karolina
Kozkowna necklace is an ideal way to be reminded to
stay true to what is right, keeping the faith, and remaining
true to oneself and to Christ.
The Gift of Faith
Giving a Karolina Kozkowna pendant to a young girl who
is making her First
Communion or Confirmation
not only gives them a fine piece of jewelry, but offers
them the gift of faith in Jesus and the strength to
keep the faith. Karolina Kozkowna will inspire them
to be strong and steadfast in their virtue.
Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed
Almighty God, you revealed the secrets of your kingdom
to the humble and the poor. You guided Blessed Karolina
to holiness through a path of persistent prayer, conscientiously
fulfilling her daily duties, her commitment to the parish
apostolic work, and her faithfulness to Your teaching
Help me to follow the example of Blessed Karolina: to
persist in prayer, to transform my work into service
to You and my neighbours, and also to undertake, with
an ardent effort, my apostolic labour in the Church
Lord may your grace give me strength that in the face
of adversity I may be a true Christian example like
Blessed Karolina, if necessary even unto death may I
bear witness that You Lord are true Life and the highest
Goodness. Almighty God it is my prayer that Blessed
Karolina may be shown in the glory of the Saints of
the Church. By her example and her intercession, may
the young people of XXI century generously walk on the
path of the evangelical blessings becoming a light unto
the world, and salt of the earth and all who search
for the Truth - may rediscover a way to You. We ask
this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
