Rosary MeditationThe
full rosary now consists of four sets of meditations, the Joyful Meditation,
the Sorrowful Meditation, the Glorious Meditation and the Luminous Meditation,
which were added to the rosary by Pope John Paul II in 2002. Each set contains
five meditations, one for each decade of the rosary. The Joyful Meditations
of the rosary are the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity, the Presentation,
and the Finding of Jesus in the Temple. The Sorrowful Meditations of the
rosary are the Agony in the Garden, the Scourging at the Pillar, the Crowning
with Thorns, the Carrying of the Cross and the Crucifixion. The Glorious
Meditations of the rosary consist of the Resurrection, the Ascension,
the Coming of the Holy Spirit, the Assumption and the Crowning of Mary, Queen
of Heaven. The Luminous Meditations are the Baptism of Jesus, the Wedding
at Cana, the Proclamation of the Kingdom of God, the Transfiguration and
the Institution of the Eucharist. |
