Promises of the rosaryOur
mother Mary has made 15 promises to those who faithfully pray the rosary.
She made these promises to us at Fatima, Portugal in 1917 when she appeared
to three children there. The first promise is for special protection and great
graces. The second is a promise of the reception of some special grace. The
third promise is that the rosary is a powerful weapon against hell. The fourth
is that saying the rosary will make virtue and good works flourish. The fifth
promise is that those who entrust themselves to Mary through the rosary will
not perish. The sixth is that those who devoutly pray the rosary will never
be overwhelmed by misfortune. The seventh is that you will not die without
the sacraments of the Church. The eighth promise is that you will have the
light of God during your life and death. The ninth is that you will be promptly
delivered from purgatory, should you go there. The tenth promise is that children
of the rosary will enjoy great glory in heaven. The eleventh is that you will
obtain whatever you ask through the rosary. The twelfth is that you will be
aided in all your necessities. The thirteenth promise is that all rosary confraternity
members will have ³the celestial court² as their intercessors. The
fourteenth is that you who recite the rosary are brothers and sisters of Jesus.
The fifteenth promise is that devotion to the rosary is a sign of predestination.
Those who are devoted to the rosary feel rewarded in the praying alone, but
these additional benefits might encourage others to give the rosary prayer
a try. |
