Our Lady of the RosaryWe use
our rosary to pray to and with our Lady. Many Protestants question our devotion
to our Lady and praying with the rosary. They say we are worshipping our Lady
with the rosary when only God should be worshipped. They misunderstand. We
love our Lady as Jesus loves her and use our rosary to pray to her as a fellow
human being who is the greatest of saints, who carried our God in her womb,
who said yes for all of humanity when she agreed to be the mother of Jesus.
Our Lady was prophesised about in the Old Testament, anticipated for her role
in the birth of our Savior. In the New Testament our Lady lives, and with
our rosaries we celebrate this and her devotion to the Son of God. We pray
to our Lady with our rosaries, that she might intercede for us with God, in
the same way that we pray to other saints. However, our Lady has a special
place in all of our hearts because she was closest to our Savior, nursing
Him, raising Him and following Him as He taught. Our greatest form of prayer
is the Holy Eucharist, when we receive Jesus, but our rosary will always remain
dear to us because they represent prayer with our Lady, the one who loves
us with a mother¹s love, and advocates for us with God. |
