Saint Bonaventure was canonized in 1482.  The Feast of St. Bonaventure was added to the General Roman Calendar as July 14.  Later, in 1969, the Feast of St. Bonaventure was made on July 15 which is the anniversary of his death.

Prayer of St. Bonaventure

The following St. Bonaventure prayer was written by Saint Bonaventure in honor of the Blessed Mother and is recited by Catholics all over the world.  Many believers wear a Saint Bonaventure medal or a Saint Bonaventure pendant, reciting his prayer to the Blessed Virgin and remembering this great Doctor of the Church.  The Saint Bonaventure necklace is a very popular remembrance of St. Bonaventure.

O Lady, the Lord has become our brother and our Savior. Like the flame in the burning bush, and the dew in the fleece, the Word of God descends into you forever.
