Our Lady of Fatima Prophecies

Our Lady of Fatima appeared to three children on July 13, 1917. The Virgin Mary revealed three secrets or prophecies to the children. Two of the prophecies were not revealed to the public until 1941. Lucia, one of the three children Our Lady of Fatima appeared to, wrote the two secrets on paper and gave them to the Bishop of Leiria. Two years later, the bishop asked for the third secret but Lucia refused because she believed God did not want her to reveal the secret at that time.

The bishop demanded that Lucia document the third prophecy. She wrote it down but sealed the document, saying that it should not be opened until 1960. Pope John Paul II did not release the third Our Lady of Fatima prophesy to the public until 2000.

The Prophecies of Fatima

1st. Revelation of Hell - The Our Lady of Fatima apparition gave the three children an image of Hell. Souls and demons in the form of humans were in the depths of fire, burning and floating throughout the flames. The suffering souls were crying in agony and despair. The demons were in the shapes of animals that were terrifying. Our Lady of Fatima promised the three children that they would go to Heaven rather than hell.

2nd. The End of WWI and the Onset of WWII - The Our Lady of Fatima apparition explained to the three children of Fatima that World War I would end but an even more devastating war would begin during the papacy of Pope Pius XI if Russia did not convert become devoted to the Immaculate Heart. If Russia heeds the message, there will be peace in the world. Our Lady of Fatima predicts that Russia will persecute the church, murder the good, and annihilate nations. This is the prophecy of Communism but Our Lady of Fatima said that in the end, she would triumph.

3rd. Prayer, Penance, and Conversion - Lucia said that the third secret of Fatima should be released in 1960 but the Vatican did not release it until June 26, 2000. The third secret of Fatima reveals a crisis of the Catholic faith in Europe and other parts of the world but Portugal will remain true to Catholicism. Our Lady of Fatima reveals that she is in a battle with Satan and that people must choose between The Most Holy Mother or evil. The way to do this is to pray the rosary and sacrifice in order to save the world from evil. It is believed that the Our Lady of Fatima apparitions reveal the world in its end times and in a battle for salvation of souls.

"The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, appeared six times to three shepherd children - Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta; between May 13 and October 13, 1917 near Fatima, Portugal. She gave them a message for the world which has since become known as the "Peace Plan from Heaven." She warned men that if they did not amend their lives, God would be forced to punish them by means of wars and other sufferings.

When our Blessed Mother appeared to the children she asked them, "Do you wish to offer yourselves to God, to endure all the suffering that He may please to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and to ask for the conversion of sinners?... Then you will have much to suffer. But the grace of God will be your comfort."

"...Do you suffer a great deal? Don't be discouraged. I will never forsake you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the road that will conduct you to God. Sacrifice yourself for sinners and say many times, especially when you make some sacrifice, 'O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and for the conversion of poor sinners.'

"Say the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war... If they do what I tell you, many souls will be saved, and there will be peace. The war is going to end [World War I]. But if they do not stop offending God, another and worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI... When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that it is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its crimes by means of war, of hunger, and of persecution of the Church and of the Holy Father.

"To prevent this, I come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If they listen to my requests, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; many nations will be annihilated.

"Jesus wishes to make use of you to have me acknowledged and loved. He wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.

"Here you see hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart... Pray, pray a great deal and make sacrifices for sinners. So many souls go to hell because there is no one to pray and sacrifice for them."

Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion, in order that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption which are recalled in it, I may be enriched with its fruits and obtain peace for the world, the conversion of sinners and of Russia, and the favor which I ask of you in this Rosary. (mention your request here). I ask it for the greater glory of God, for your own honor, and for the good of souls, especially for my own. Amen."
