St. Frances Cabrini
Patron Saint
St. Frances Cabrini is the patron saint of immigrants.
It is a traditional Catholic practice to wear a patron
saint medal for the intercession and help of the saint.
Many Catholic immigrants wear a St. Frances Cabrini
medal for strength and renewed faith in their new country.
Wearing a St. Frances Cabrini pendant and reciting a
St. Frances Cabrini prayer is inspirational for immigrants
because St. Frances Cabrini was also an immigrant.
St. Frances Cabrini emigrated from Italy to America,
founding over sixty orphanages and building hospitals
in American cities. She is an example of what faith
and determination can do, even when in a foreign country.
Even though Mother Frances Cabrini had a weak constitution
her entire life, she was able to accomplish much more
than a healthy person. She put her trust in Jesus Christ
and did everything He asked of her.
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Prayer
How much there can be in a name is most clearly show
in you who were called Frances Xavier, thus expressing
your wonderful missionary spirit. An emigrant to the
United States from Lombardi in Italy, you took care
of immigrants. You founded the Missionary Sisters and
became the first American citizen to be canonized a
Saint. Make us dedicated servants of God like youself
and care for the immigrants who need your help. Amen.
Prayer to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini
Almighty and Eternal Father,
Giver of all Gifts,
show us Thy mercy,
and grant, we beseech Thee,
through the merits of Thy faithful Servant,
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini,
that all who invoke her intercession
may obtain what they desire
according to the good pleasure of Thy Holy Will.
(Here name your request)
St. Frances Xavier Cabrini,
beloved spouse of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus,
intercede for us
that the favor we now ask may be granted.
