The Face of Jesus Is
a Mystery
The face of Jesus is well known to all Christians. It
is painted on fresco wall, cathedral ceilings, and hung
on museum galleries. The face of Jesus is sculpted and
formed into beautiful jewelry but no one really knows
what the image of Jesus' face really looked like.
All the faces of Jesus signify His loving mercy for
all Christians and the pain He suffered for His faithful
followers. It is a face of beauty, compassion, suffering,
and glory. The face of Jesus is a central theme of Christianity.
Belief in the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus
is the basis of the Christian faith and Jesus' face
is an embodiment or His love for Christians and His
command that Christians love all people in the same
way they love themselves.
The Face of Jesus Christ Medal
All Christians want to spread the word of Jesus to everyone
they meet. They live the way of Jesus at work, in the
home, and during their leisure time, showing all people
by their example the love and mercy of Jesus. One ideal
way to express faith in Jesus Christ is wearing the
Face of Jesus Medal. The medal depicts Jesus with the
crown of thorns on His head, looking toward Heaven where
He will be in glory with God the Father.
Novena in Honor of the Most Holy Face
of Jesus
"I firmly wish that my face reflecting the intimate
pains of my soul, the suffering and love of my heart,
be more honored! Whoever gazes upon me already consoles
me."
Our Lord
Jesus Christ recited this to Sister Pierina, a nun
from the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception in Italy
during the early 1900,s. Jesus appeared to her, asking
her to spread this prayer to all people in devotion
to the Holy Face of Jesus.
