Receive Plenary Indulgence
with the Pardon Crucifix
The Pardon Crucifix is not just another traditional
crucifix of the Catholic Church. It is an instrument
of pardon to all who carry it or wear it. The Pardon
Crucifix offers indulgences to those who are truly sorry
for their sins, receive the sacraments, go to the sacrament
of Reconciliation, and kiss the cross with sincerity
and a contrite heart.
As long as a person continues to receive the Sacraments
and Communion regularly, carrying the Pardon crucifix
up until the time of death with love and devotion in
your heart guarantees forgiveness of all sins and entry
into heaven.
Prayers to Receive Plenary Indulgences
The following pardon prayer offers a plenary indulgence
when recited on a Friday in Lent and Passiontide, or
when recited after Communion before an image of Christ
crucified. On any other day the indulgence is partial.
This was granted by the Sacred Apostolic Penitentiary
in 1968, Vatican City:
Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus.
Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before
your face I humbly kneel, and with burning soul pray
and beseech you to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments
of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins,
and a firm purpose of amendment, while I contemplate
with great love and tender pity your five wounds, pondering
over them within me, calling to mind the words which
David, your prophet, said of you, my good Jesus:
"They have pierced my hands and my feet; they have
numbered all my bones."
Act of Dedication of the Human Race to Jesus
Christ King. This prayer receives a plenary indulgence
when it is publicly recited on the feast of our Lord
Jesus Christ King. Otherwise the indulgence is partial.
Most sweet
Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon
us humbly prostrate before you. We are yours, and yours
we wish to be; but to be more surely united with you,
behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today
to your Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known
you; many, too, despising your precepts, have rejected
you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and
draw them to your Sacred
Heart. Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful
who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal
children who have abandoned you; grant that they may
quickly return to their Father's house, lest they die
of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those who are
deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps
aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and
the unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one
flock and one Shepherd. Grant, O Lord, to your Church
assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give tranquility
of order to all nations; make the earth resound from
pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the divine Heart
that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor
for ever. Amen.
There are many prayers that can be said and deeds that
can be done for plenary or partial indulgences. It seems
that the Pardon Crucifix is the most popular method
to gain indulgences because just wearing the crucifix
gives pardon for sins.
