Medals Devoted to the Apparitions of the
Blessed Virgin Mary It is generally thought that Our Lady appearances began
in 40 AD, prbably before the Blessed Virgin Mary died. The
apparition mostly describe her wearing a long dress and head
cover which may vary in color depending on the content of
her messages. Her feet are usually surrounded by a mist or
cloud and, at times, she seems to hover above the ground.

The History of the Virgin Caridad
del Cobre
It was the year 1613 when three boys were gathering
salt from the sea for the preservation of meat. They
were in the Nipe Bay in Cuba. Their names were Rodrigo
and Juan de Hoyos, together with the ten year old slave
boy, Juan Moreno. They were in a rowboat when a storm
came upon them. They were in fear of capsizing when
they looked into the sea and saw the image of the Virgin
Caridad del Cobre beneath the waves. They asked the
Caridad del Cobre for help and the storm calmed, saving
their lives.
When the boys brought the news to the town, the people
believed Caridad del Cobre was a holy sign from God
and built a temple for the virgin's image. The temple
was constructed in the same place where a church stands
today. The church still displays the Virgin Caridad
del Cobre where she is worshipped by many.
