Almost All Religions Believe in Angels

Angels are mentioned throughout the Old Testament and also in the New Testament. Almost every major religion believes in the existence of angels and their role as intermediaries between God and man. Each of the nine orders of angels has different jobs to do. The highest order of angels is the closest to God. They are enlightened by God and help pass their knowledge about God's mysteries on to others below them. In fact, the word cherubim means "great understanding" in Hebrew. The second order of angels has power over the angels below them. They are able to perform miracles and provide the power to the saints on earth who cure the sick and see into the future. These angels, especially the "Powers" have control over evil spirits. They help people to resist evil and do good works.

The lowest order of angels are the ones most people are familiar with. They are entrusted with the protection of all people, in all parts of the universe. They convey God's message to people in order to give them the chance of salvation and to glorify God. The archangels usually make announcements, revealing God's will to the people. Angels are at the bottom of the order, but are the spiritual beings that most people relate to. They try to teach people to live good lives of faith and virtue. The angels also watch over those who have faith, always ready to give aid if asked for it.

Asking Angels for Help Is Important

Asking for help from the angels is often forgotten by most people. Angels give assistance to humans only when asked. The angels are always willing and want to help in any way possible.
